NMJH Visiting Scholar Program FY2011 (กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ)

          The National Museum of Japanese History (NMJH) announces the recruitment of a few visiting scholars for the fiscal year 2011. Foreign specialists studying Japanese history and culture, and interested in joining collaborative research projects at NMJH, are invited to submit applications for this program.

1. Number of positions

          A few positions

2. Contract period

         Between three and up to six months during the period April 1, 2011- March 31, 2012

3. Requirements

         Applicants must be employees of foreign research institutions such as universities (part-timers are excluded), and meet one of the following requirements. When they are appointed, their visit to NMJH must be approved by their supervisors.
         (1) Hold a doctoral degree
         (2) Have expertise equivalent to those who hold a doctoral degree

5. How to apply

         The Application closes at Friday,August 27, 2010.
All materials for application must be submitted to the International Exchange Section at NMJH by research staff of the museum. If applicants have no acquaintance with them, please try to contact them. [Researchers’ profile here: Japanese / English (PDF,50KB)]

6. Selection

         Submitted materials will be examined by several committees at NMJH. Director-General, on behalf of the museum, invite those who are approved.

7. Procedures after official invitation

         Visiting scholars at NMJH receive monthly salaries according to the working contracts with Director-General. Regardless of their nationalities, they are required to apply visas in their own country to enter Japan with working permission.
